Dr. Mick Kelly
Board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon
Dr. Mick Kelly is a board-certified fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with a focus on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement. He is a Partner at Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin based in Pewaukee, WI but treats patients from all over Wisconsin.
Dr. Kelly is a Wisconsin native and proud Badger. He grew up in Neenah and was a Wisconsin High School State Singles Tennis Champion during his senior year. He graduated at the top of his class from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Biology. After graduation, Dr. Kelly decided to take a gap year living in South America to investigate healthcare quality and access in Peru. Dr. Kelly received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. As a medical student, he won multiple research awards and had the opportunity to present research across the country. Dr. Kelly completed his five-year orthopedic surgery training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, which is consistently rated one of the top orthopedic training programs in the country. While at Rush, Dr. Kelly embraced the opportunity to teach orthopedic surgery to younger residents and medical students and was recognized with the Chief Resident Teaching Award. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Kelly pursued an additional year of fellowship training in complex Hip and Knee Replacement at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. He learned from some of the best hip and knee replacement surgeons in the country and now applies those skills to improve the lives of his patients across Wisconsin.
In his free time, Dr. Kelly enjoys being active in the outdoors through golf, skiing, tennis, running, and hiking.
Approach to care
Dr. Kelly takes a personalized approach to treating patients. First, he will educate the patient on his or her unique condition and the expected outcome of treatment. He believes strongly in exhausting non-operative treatment options to treat pain and dysfunction. If the patient is not satisfied with his or her quality of life, Dr. Kelly will offer a personalized surgical intervention with minimally invasive techniques to restore quality of life for his patients as quickly and safely as possible.
